      Handmade Clay Mortar with Wooden Pestle - Laos Style - 8" - Clay and Wood

      This rustic mortar is handmade from clay and comes with a wooden pestle. The mortar is crafted in traditional Laos style and is used to crush, grind, and mix ingredients such as spices, herbs, chilies, and papaya. The clay mortar measures 23 cm in diameter at the top and 13 cm at the base. The wooden pestle is 33 cm long, and the wood color may vary from light to dark. The set is available in two colors: a terracotta brown and a dark gray variant. The mortar is suitable for preparing dishes from Thailand and Laos, including the classic papaya salad such as tum. Before first use, it is recommended to wash the mortar and pestle in warm soapy water. The mortar is not suitable for heavy crushing of hard ingredients such as curry pastes.
