Antiseptic Liquid - Dettol Liquid - Chloroxylenol 4.8% w/v - 500 ml Dettol Liquid is an effective, concentrated antiseptic solution containing Chloroxylenol 4.8% w/v as the active ingredient. The product kills bacteria and protects against microorganisms that can cause infections and diseases. It can be used for antiseptic cleansing of minor wounds caused by cuts, bites, scrapes, and insect stings. Furthermore, it can be used for dandruff, spots and pimples, and for personal hygiene when medically recommended. For wound care, dilute two and a half teaspoons (12.5 ml) of Dettol Liquid in half a pint (1/4 litre) of water, and wash the affected area and cover with dry gauze or lint. For personal hygiene and douching, dilute two teaspoons (10 ml) in 2 pints (1 litre) of water. To treat dandruff, pour one tablespoon (15 ml) over the scalp and leave for 10 minutes before shampooing. The product also contains Pine Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Caustic Soda Solution, and Castor Oil, which can cause skin reactions. The product contains a fragrance with trace amounts of benzyl alcohol and d-limonene. The bottle is orange with a white lid.
