Plain Paratha is a classic flatbread known from Southeast Asian and South Asian cuisine. The bread is made from wheat flour and has a characteristic layered structure, which gives it a slightly crispy and flaky texture when cooked. It is a versatile bread that can be used as an accompaniment to a wide range of dishes, including curries, dips, vegetable dishes, and meat-based meals. Paratha is also suitable as a quick and satisfying snack or as part of a larger dinner. Preparation is simple and only requires a preheated frying pan, where the bread is cooked for one to two minutes on each side, optionally with a little butter or oil, until both sides are golden brown.
