Description
Nam Powder Spice Blend - 70 g
Nam Powder Spice Mix is a pre-mixed spice blend used for preparing nam - one of the oldest forms of fermented pork in Thai cuisine. The blend is developed to give raw pork and pork rind a characteristic, aromatic, and slightly sour taste, typical of this traditional Asian dish. The spice is mixed directly with minced pork, pork rind cut into strips, fresh garlic, and fresh red chilies, after which the mixture is thoroughly kneaded until it becomes sticky and uniform. The finished mixture is packed tightly into plastic containers or banana leaves and sealed before being left to rest for at least 24 hours, allowing the flavors to develop and fermentation to occur. The result is a firm, aromatic, and slightly spicy snack with a distinct sour undertone from acidity regulators and depth from galangal and ginger. Nam is traditionally served cold and is well-suited as an appetizer, snack, or accompaniment in warm weather. The dish can be enjoyed with fresh ginger, peanuts, or finely chopped greens. The spice blend contains no artificial additives and is halal certified. The 70 g package should be stored dry and is suitable for homemade Asian cooking. The product is aimed at food enthusiasts who wish to recreate authentic Thai flavors at home and is an excellent choice for those seeking Asian spices, fermented pork recipes, Thai snacks, nam spices, or traditional Asian cooking.
